Welcome to the Worthington Youth Boosters Recreation Fastpitch Softball League. This league is designed to introduce young ladies to the game of fastpitch softball. 


The WYB goals are simple:

• Learn softball fundamentals

• Get exposure to all facets of the game

• Have fun

• Keep playing softball!


The season will run from late May until approximately the 4th of July, depending upon the weather. Games and practices are typically held at McCord Park, and will be scheduled on varying days of the week, including weekends.

  • Tee Ball PreK-K 

    TEE BALL FORMAT/RULES:

    All girls on roster must play.

    Pitcher position is to be used in field.

    Catcher is permitted.  MUST WEAR HELMET

    All girls to play in field.  (WE WILL HAVE TO USE OUTFIELD/INFIELD)

    Bat whole roster.  

    Helmets to be maintained on by runners on bases.

    ON deck batters to remain behind fence.

    OUTS will NOT be counted.  Last two games of season, OUTS WILL BE USED. 

    Coach Pitch will be used for last two games.  Three pitches from Coach.  Tee brought out.  

    Score will NOT be kept, except for last two games. 

    Placement of players in field is at coaches discretion.

    Positions must rotated every inning.

    One hour time game limit

  • Machine Pitch Grades 1-2

    MACHINE PITCH MINORS FORMAT/RULES:

    Game last 1.5 hours, or six innings.   No new innning after 1.5 hour from start time,

    All players on roster, all players bat.

    Unlimited defensive substitutions

    10 Batters/6 runs/3 outs ends an inning 

    One offensive coach to be permitted on field to feed machine.

    Bases coaches permitted

    Machine speed to be set at 30 MPH.  Machine should be set prior to game with approval from both coaches.  Adjustment of machine must be approved by Head coach of Visiting and Home team.

    Each batter is to receive 5 pitches, unless

    Final pitch is hit but the coach pitcher fields the batted ball, resulting in dead ball, or

    The final pitch is hit but is foul

    One more pitch is to be given.

    No coaches in field for defensive purposes.

    Runners may continue to advance until ball is in pitcher control and within the mound circle

    Over throw rule is NOT in effect.  Runners can advance one base, until ball is placed in pitchers circle.

    Runs can only be scored upon a batted ball.  Baserunners can not leave the base until the ball is batted.  If baserunner leaves early, it is a deadball, and batter shall resume her turn at bat.

    Extra base advance permitted.   If winning by 8 one base advanced per at bat

    Stealing is NOT permitted.  

    No leading off. 

    ASA sanctioned bats only

    Bunting is PERMITTED

    Sliding is required on any close play.   Reasonable attempt to slide must be attempted, or runner is out.

    35 Mound/60 base path distances to be used.

    No infield fly rule enforcement

    Game can start with 8 players

    For the LAST TWO GAMES OF THE SEASON, the game will become KID/Coach Pitch.  Four pitches from player, if needed, coach pitches next three pitches.  NO WALKS.  Same rules as above, 

    Strike out to be enforced.

    ABSOLUTELY NO JEWELRY

  • Junior Kid Pitch Grades 3-4

    JUNIOR LEAGUE FORMAT/RULES:

    ASA Rules to followed with the exception of the following changes/additions

    Games last 1.5 hours, or six innings.   No new inning after 1.5 hour from start time.

    All players on roster, all players bat.

    Unlimited defensive substitutions

    10 Batters/6 runs/3 outs ends an inning

    Pitcher is required to wear fielders mask

    Batter to wear helmet with facemask

    Pitchers are required to begin with their back foot on the mound before executing the pitch. Pitching will be done from the K position. 

    Dropped third strike will not be implemented in this league. 

    Pitcher to attempt four (4) pitches. If no ball is put in play, COACH is inserted to pitch, the coach is in play, same as umpire.

    Coach pitches three (3) pitches.  Pitch count carries over, strikes out permitted, but no walks.  Third pitch is last pitch and batter is out if ball not put in play.

    Last two games of the year, NO COACH PITCH IS PERMITTED. Traditional pitch count is in effect

    Walks will be permitted.  

    Runners may continue to advance until ball is in pitcher control and within the mound circle

    Over throw rule is in effect, provided does not go out of play.

    Runs can only be scored upon a batted ball.

    Extra base advance permitted.  

    Stealing is permitted.  No stealing home on passed ball. 

    No leading off.  Runner may leave base upon ball leaving pitchers hand. 

    ASA sanctioned bats only

    Batter may attempt advance to first base on dropped 3rd strike.

    Bunting is PERMITTED

    Sliding is required on any close play.   Reasonable attempt to slide must be attempted, or runner is out.

    35 Mound/60 base path distances to be used.

    No infield fly rule enforcement

    Game can start with 8 players

    Home team is responsible for scorebook.  Home team is to coordinate with visiting team.

    Score will be kept.  Winning team to report scores to WYB. 

    ABSOLUTELY NO JEWELRY

  • Senior Kid Pitch Grades 5-7

    SENIOR LEAGUE FORMAT/RULES:

    ASA Rules to followed with the exception of the following changes/additions

    Game last 1.5 hours, or six innings.   No new innning after 1.5 hour from start time

    All players on roster, all players bat.

    Unlimited defensive substitutions

    10 Batters/6 runs/3 outs ends an inning

    All players in infield are required to wear fielders mask

    Batter to wear helmet with facemask

    Ten Players permitted in field, four outfielders

    Runners may continue to advance until ball is in pitcher control and within the mound circle

    However, once a single overthrow occurs, no more can occur.  

    Over throw rule is in effect, provided does not go out of play.

    Runs can only be scored upon a batted ball.

    Extra base advance permitted.  

    Stealing is permitted, including home.    Runner may steal once ball leaves hand of pitcher.

    No leading off.  Runner may leave base upon ball leaving pitchers hand. 

    ASA sanctioned bats only

    Batter may attempt advance to first base on dropped 3rd strike.

    Bunting is PERMITTED

    Sliding is required on any close play.   Reasonable attempt to slide must be attempted, or runner is out.

    35 Mound/60 base path distances to be used.

    We always need coach volunteers so please sign up! We will also be seeking Middle School volunteer coaches to assist with T-ball and Machine pitch leagues.
